Timothy McCallum is the CEO and founder of 2BSalt Financial Engineering, where he embodies a guiding principle of striving to enhance the abilities of those around him. He approaches every situation with the mindset of improving it through his presence. With over three decades of experience in the information technology, telecom industry, financial engineering, and strategic business planning, Tim has developed a unique foundation of diverse technology expertise and financial insight.
Previously, Tim served as the Director of Business Value Programs and Strategy at Nutanix, founding and leading a global team of business and finance professionals. Since 2012, he has provided financial engineering consulting (TCO/ROI) for NetApp and Nutanix. His efforts in transforming financial analysis and technology into customer strategic objectives earned him the FY2015 West Area MVP award from NetApp and the FY2017 Top Contributor award from Nutanix. Recently, he contributed material and insights to Steve Kaplan’s book, The ROI Story.
Tim began his career as a paperboy in a suburb of Seattle, WA, where he first learned the importance of customer service. He graduated from Inglemoor High School, earned an Associate of Arts degree from Shoreline Community College, and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Seattle University. After gaining experience in the workforce, he completed his Master of Business Administration at Northwest University in Kirkland, WA.
At NetApp, Tim successfully expanded the West and South Central Area financial engineering sales consulting practice, resulting in over $90 million in total sales impact through customer-centered TCO/ROI business cases, financial structuring, strategic planning, and customer engagements. Before joining NetApp, he spent more than 17 years in enterprise IT organizations within the wireless communications industry, including a role as Manager of Enterprise Storage Solutions for T-Mobile, USA, where he managed over 20PB of EMC, HDS, and HP storage and significantly improved return on investment through storage efficiency.
Tim spends much of his free time with his family, enjoying sports, music, and Lego building. Tim is actively involved in his community, volunteering his time and talents through local churches, schools, and charity events, with a passion for leaving a positive legacy wherever he goes.
